A few years ago I was walking with some of my friends. I apologized for slowing everyone down. One of them looked at me and told me it was okay because it gave us a chance to stop and smell all of the roses. Those few words have stuck with me throughout the years. Today, I make a point to acknowledge that while my mobility can slow me down it gives me a greater chance to be thankful for the little things in life. To stop and smell the roses has become a motto for my life, although I much prefer peonies.
I have recently come to know that I don’t truly understand how I am feeling until it is set in ink. this blog is a compilation of my thoughts and subsequently all the roses I am stopping to smell. some of the roses in my life that you will see pop up on here are my faith, tales of adventure, and lessons I have learned along the way.
